APOSTASY is director Dan Kokotajlo and producer Marcie Maclellan’s debut feature, a drama that delves into the lives of a family of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Manchester. They wanted a making-of film to promote this unusual story and the talent behind it.
We followed the cast and crew across several filming locations, gathering interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. By working unobtrusively on busy sets, we could get up close to capture key interactions without interrupting. The filmmakers were so happy with the making-of film that they also commissioned us to produce the graphics, subtitles and credits for APOSTASY. The feature showed at festivals around the world including San Sebastian, the London Film Festival and TIFF, and was released in cinemas to widespread critical acclaim in July 2018, achieving 12th position at the UK box office.
